What’s the Record?
Have you ever finished an Escape Room in an impressively timely manner and asked what the fastest time is, only to be disappointed that you didn’t get it? At Puzzle Effect, we don’t keep a leaderboard, as we’re focused on players enjoying our rooms and collaborating with each other, rather than trying to beat some unattainable record.
The Usual Suspects
The next time you’re at an escape room, take note of the names on their leaderboard if they have one. You’ll probably notice that the title of “fastest escape” is held by the same team. Escape Room Enthusiasts pride themselves on completing rooms at the fastest time possible, and they have much more experience than your average player who’s just trying to have fun. Here at Puzzle Effect we don’t want our players to focus on trying to beat a record; we just want them to have the best time possible!
Immersive Clueing
Our game masters are always hard at work, ready to help you get un-stuck if a puzzle gets too hard. This leads to many groups getting a bit of help to escape, and this makes it hard to keep track of a leaderboard. If we wanted to reward competitive play, we would need to change up the way we clue our players. Immersive Clueing ensures that everyone has a great time, and nobody goes home disappointed!
