Have you found yourself struggling in an escape room? These tips and tricks will help you level up your game, so that you’ll be escaping in no time!
First Steps
When your timer begins, it can be tempting to tug on all of the locks in the room. Try not focusing on what’s locked; instead, focus on what’s not. Scavenging for loose items is a great first step in any escape room. Chances are the first thing you need to do will be openly available to you. After that, you can figure out which lock the items you found will help you open.
Give it a Try
Put all of your ideas into practice. If you think you know the answer, there’s no harm in trying. Many groups come up with the solution to a puzzle, only to ignore it and try the next thing that comes to their mind. It’s also important to make sure everyone’s voices are heard. Make sure you aren’t missing possible solutions.
Communicate!
If you find an item, be sure to announce it and place it in an area where everyone can see and interact with it. Chances are you’ve found something that is integral to a puzzle that someone else is solving. It can be helpful to designate an area where all puzzle pieces can be placed. Be sure to separate items that you have already used, as it’s likely you won’t need to use them more than once.
