Team Building at Puzzle Effect
Nothing brings co-workers together like solving puzzles in an Escape Room. It’s a great way to test how well your team works together, and what they need to improve on. As a leader, there are a few important things to remember as your team tackles a challenge together:
Participate!
It may be tempting to sit in a control room and observe your team from afar, but you’ll learn a lot more by being in the room with them! Your Game Master will be hard at work making sure your team is having the smoothest experience possible, so leave the camera watching to them. Besides, you can always ask them for their observations when the game has concluded.
Who takes charge?
There’s usually one or two players that immediately take charge in a team-building event. It’s important to observe how they do this. Are they listening to everyone’s ideas? Are they delegating tasks effectively? You can easily spot some leadership strengths and faults in an Escape Room setting.
Who speaks up?
Look for the players that speak up when they have a new idea. It can also be easy to spot someone who is holding their tongue when they might have the right answer. This can help you identify who on your team might be holding back important ideas in your workplace. Take this opportunity to lift them up and encourage them that they can make an impact!
