Game Masters at Puzzle Effect: Why we do it Better
While it’s true that we have a great selection of Escape Rooms on offer at Puzzle Effect, they aren’t the only key to our success. The great player experience we offer is facilitated masterfully by our team of helpful and friendly Game Masters. But what is a Game Master? And are they really watching you from the control room and laughing while you struggle?
The Anatomy of a Game Master
Game Masters at Puzzle Effect are there with you every step of the way, from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave. They’ll check you in first, make sure you have everything you need and get to know you a little better. Be sure to ask any questions you may have, even if you think they’re silly. The more information your Game Master has about the type of player you are, the better your experience will be.
Trust in your Game Master
Think of your GM as an additional member of your team. They’re your “guy in the chair” and they want nothing more than to see you succeed. They’ll never lead you astray or give you a clue that will point you in the wrong direction. Trust that they will give you a nudge when you need it, if you do need it at all. Maybe you’re just built different.
Speak Up!
Our GMs might seem super human, but they sadly can’t read minds. It’s immensely helpful to work through your puzzles while talking out loud so they can know how best to nudge you along if you get stuck. Don’t make them play a guessing game, say your codes out loud and explain your thinking process. This is also great for communicating with the other players in your team!
